BEAUTIRAN : ALL-PURPOSE CANVASES
BEAUTIRAN : ALL-PURPOSE CANEVASES
BEAUTIRAN
Beautiran is a printing-on-fabric factory that was founded during the French Revolution. It closed during the 19th century. Their magnificent fabrics were called "de Jouy" canvases.
Passionate about this incredible period of French history and the beauty of its paintings, I was the brainthrust behind the book « l’incroyable aventure des toiles de Beautiran » which traces the life of this company.
For this occasion I redesigned the canvases by pen in order to use them as designs on tablecloths and other items.
I created, in "Beautiran" mode, a canvas representing monuments of Paris, as well as dogs, that I named « Parisian dogs".
This motif, printed on paper, is an « all-purpose » decoration that adorns the white frame in which I place the drawing of your dog or cat.
Whether on a red, yellow, pink, sky blue or grey background, it retains the classicism of Beautiran's paintings, although this motif was never used by the manufacturer at the time.
A Beautiran Paintings Museum opened in Gironde, close to BORDEAUX
