VISIT TO KYOTO – LOUIS BARTHÉLÉMY

KYOTO

Osaka, the closest port to Kyoto, is only 48 hours away by crossing the Shanghai estuary. I imagine that during his long stay in China while waiting for his trial to take place, Louis-Barthélémy went to Japan. In fact, the end of the "Tokugawa Shogunate" meant the beginning of the country's opening to the outside world.

Upon arriving at the port of Osaka, Louis-Barthélémy marveled at the magnificent castle, which had finally been restored a few years earlier after a long period of neglect

Nowadays, Kyoto is at only30 minutes by train from Osaka. Since time immemorial, the city has been renowned for its beauty and gentle way of life.
